Château Fourcas Hosten
is in Listrac-Médoc, nestled in the heart of a magnificent 3-hectare (7.4-acre) park. In 1810 the owner, a Monsieur Hosten, ceded the property to the Saint-Affrique family, who created the château as we know it today and earned it international renown. In 2006 brothers Renaud and Laurent Momméja acquired the estate with an eye to reviving this two hundred-year-old property. “We just fell in love with this estate and its great wine, so with Château Fourcas Hosten we wanted to write a new chapter in our family history.”
In that spirit the brothers launched a renovation, building a new winery that utilizes vats made of cement, wood, and stainless steel; establishing a new cellar; and significantly restructuring the vineyards. They follow lutte raisonnée in the vineyards, harvest manually, and follow the greatest traditions of Bordeaux in vinification.
The wines of Château Fourcas Hosten are excellent ambassadors of the Listrac-Médoc appellation.
