Château Branas Grand Poujeaux
was acquired in 2002 by Justin Onclin, who enjoys the expert counsel of oenologist Hubert de Bouärd. The château is located in Moulis-en-Médoc, neighboring the famous Château Poujeaux and Château Chasse Spleen.
Onclin works the fantastic terroir of Château Branas Grand Poujeaux with the utmost precision. The 14 hectares (35 acres) of vineyards sit on Günz gravel from the Garonne, on the Grand Poujeaux plateau. A parcellary approach to viticulture focuses on manual care adapted to each individual vine. In the cellar, the most modern technology is used to draw the best out of the grapes while fully respecting them. The wine is matured in new barrels for 18 months, an expert dose chosen to respect the character of each vintage.
In just a few years, Justin Onclin has built a streamlined, modern operation. The wines of Château Branas Grand Poujeaux are powerful and elegant, their excellent quality a testament to the exacting work done here.
