Château Rouget wine
Chateau Rouget has been in the Labruyère family since 1992. This is a family who lovingly preserves the past, yet retains one eye on the future. A newcomer to Bordeaux, the family is not, however, new to the world of wine as it is headed by Jean-Pierre Labruyère, who comes from an old Beaujolais wine family.

After the renovation of part of the Château Rouget vineyards, he started work on renovating the winery and cellars, which are now among the appellation’s best equipped. Expanded in 1999 with two hectares acquired from prestigious neighbouring châteaux, Château Rouget’s vineyards now cover 18 hectares in the Pomerol AOC. The vines are 30-years-old and planted in gravelly clay, with siliceous clay in places, and a ferruginous alios subsoil. Château Rouget has enlisted the services of consultant winemaker, Michel Rolland.
