Toques et Clochers
is unique in France. Since 1990 this charity festival has highlighted the excellent crus and vignerons of the Sieur d’Arques cooperative in Limoux.
Four terroirs and forty-two clock towers. Limoux enjoys an exceptional location in the Languedoc and encourages the individual work of each vigneron in order to obtain outstanding wines. The influence of the ocean and the natural shield provided by the foothills of the Pyrenees create four distinct terroirs that mark the wines they produce: Mediterranean, oceanic (temperate), Autan (combined Mediterranean and oceanic influences), and a cooler climate in the upper valley. Parcellary selection, hand harvesting, and rigorous sorting during the harvest contribute to the excellent quality of these wines.
Sieur d’Arques and Toques et Clochers produce exceptional Chardonnays that perfectly convey the character of each terroir: minerality and structure in the Haute Vallée, floral aromas and notes of dried fruit and nuts in Autan, a bouquet of white fruit and vanilla in the oceanic climate, and intense scents of ripe fruit and a fleshy palate in the Mediterranean climate.
