Domaine La Guintrandy
is located just outside the Enclave des Papes, in the communes of Visan and Tulette. Marie-Claude and Olivier Cuilleras are respectively the fifth and sixth generation of owner-growers on a property which has been in the family since 1850.
The Domaine La Guintrandy vineyards grow in clay-limestone soils which are very suitable for vines, at an altitude ranging between 180 and 230 metres. It is managed according to certified organic growing principles to ensure that the wine produced is the reflection of the terroir. The soil is ploughed across the entire width of the row and deep-tilled one a year to decompact it, allow it to aerate, and enable the roots to dig down deep to draw out all the earth’s elements. The domaine only uses organic fertilizers when deficiencies are identified. The harvest is carried out by hand by a team of 12 to 16 pickers, and vinification is carried out in the traditional manner.
Domaine La Guintrandy produces generous, full-bodied, aromatic wines, approachable when young or made for cellar-ageing.
