, located in Pont-de-L'Isère, was established in 1936 by Camille Combier, the grandfather of Laurent, the owner of the domaine today. Domaine Combier
celebrated 40 years of organic growing in 2010, and today extends over 25 hectares of vineyards whose heart remains the Clos des Grives. It still grows 25 hectares of fruit trees. Massal selection is used for all plantings and replantings in order to preserve the typical characteristics of the grape varieties. All the work in the vineyards is adapted to the character of the soils, the lunar calendar and the life of the plant, as closely as possible.
At Domaine Combier, the fruit must be immediately expressive. Laurent likes "cheerful and seductive wines." Temperature-controlled vats, concrete amphora-shaped vats, concrete tanks, barrels or demi-muids (600l barrels): hygiene and practicality, gentle cap punching operations and natural oxygenation of the wine. Each wine produced is the perfect combination of all these decisions. Laurent is very clear about his objective: "The finesse of great Burgundy Pinot Noirs is magical, I want my own wines to offer that same special quality. I also love their straightforward character”.
