is a family-owned property handed down from father to son since 1644. It is located in the upper part of the commune, at the foot of the famous towers of Chignin, whose origin remains a mystery. Oenologist, Jean-François, took over the domaine with his father in 1987, after he graduated from the Faculty of Dijon and completed several rewarding internships in Bordeaux and California.
Domaine Quénard has 18 hectares of vineyards which lie at the foot of the old fortress towers. The Chignin wine producing area, located 10 km south of Chambéry, is distinguished for its well-exposed clay-limestone slopes as well as the site of the magnificent Middle Age towers. Jean-François Quénard draws his inspiration from traditional methods handed down through successive generations. He ensures the respect of the terroir, growing practices and the vinification process, enhanced by new techniques. Each parcel is vinified separately and the process is not unlike giving birth! From the grape to the wine.
Each year the Domaine Quénard wines pick up numerous medals and are listed in wine guides.
