Boroli
It is in the province of Cuneo that a small Piedmontese town, Barolo, gives its name to Italy's most prestigious wine appellation, also known as "the wine of kings" or "king of wines."
For several centuries, eleven towns spread across these hillsides with different orientations and terroirs have been producing wines of exceptional quality, including La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Monfort, and Serralunga d'Alba.
The Barolo appellation represents around 1,980 hectares of the region's typical grape variety: Nebbiolo. These wines are aged for at least two years in oak barrels and one year in bottles.
Charmed by this exceptional grape variety and historic terroir, the Boroli family, originally from Piedmont, devoted themselves to viticulture in 1990, transforming their passion into a way of life.
By paying close attention to climatic conditions and meticulously tending to the grapes in their vineyards, they produce high-quality wines that are praised by critics and offer unforgettable tasting experiences. The excellence and precision of their cultivation has also become a true philosophy: "total, consistent, and uncompromising quality."
As a result, each of their vintages— Classico, Cerequio, Villero, and Brunella—exult in their own personalities and represent each of the terroirs from which they originate. These Barolos perfectly justify their nickname as "kings of wines."
Buyer's advice: "These Barolos have the acidity and freshness characteristic of the Nebbiolo grape variety, giving them the ability to improve with aeration: taste them as soon as you open the bottle, and then again 24 hours later: the aromatic profile of your wine will offer you a different approach and a surprising and delicious new personality."
All made from the same grape variety and using the same highly precise winemaking methods, the quality of their vintages depends on the differentiation of the Barolo terroirs. Here are a few key points to help you better understand them:
- Brunella: one of the most beautiful plots in Barolo, with full exposure to the south, east, and west: 50% loamy, 30% sandy, 20% clayey, at an altitude of around 300m, with soils and climatic conditions that are absolutely ideal for Nebbiolo, located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto.
- Villero: the plots are located between Sant'Agata and Castiglione Falletto, with south-west exposure, at an altitude of around 250m. : optimal ripening of the grapes: soils with a unique composition of 60% loam, 20% clay, 10% sand with 10% fossil mixtures, shells and plant deposits; distinctive complexity.
- Cerequio: plots located in the municipality of Barolo and "the Langhe Riviera," east and southeast exposure, high sunlight exposure, 50% loam, 25% sandy, 25% clay, approximately 350 m above sea level, natural fertilization, green manure, beautifully ripened grapes.
