The Concours Général Agricole wine competition, an event at the Paris International Agricultural Show!
As every year, for ten days, the Porte de Versailles in Paris will welcome farmers from all over the world—including France—for the International Agricultural Show. In 2019, it will take place from Saturday, February 23 to Sunday, March 3. It is the ideal place to discover agricultural sectors and their products, as well as to meet breeders and agricultural professionals. The theme for this year's event will be: "Women, men, talents." Once again, the Concours Général Agricole des Vins will reward the work of producers by awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals. These medals are a great way to get your products out there and help certain wines, estates, and appellations stand out from the crowd.A benchmark in the wine industry, attracting numerous candidates
This competition showcases local products. And it's not just dairy products and cows that are involved, as wines are also submitted to the jury for evaluation. In 2018, 16,018 wines were represented, from 3,623 producers. A total of 4,025 were awarded prizes, including 1,580 gold medals, 1,625 silver medals, and 820 bronze medals. The medals are awarded according to quality levels by rigorously selected and trained judges. Among them are sommeliers, oenologists, producers, and knowledgeable consumers with extensive expertise in both taste and technique. Prior to the Concours Général Agricole des Vins, samples are pre-selected locally. They are then brought to the Salon de l'Agriculture for the final round. It's a real competition between producers!A fine selection of wines from all regions of France
Renowned for its impartiality, as entries are anonymized during the pre-selection and final stages, this competition attracts a large number of candidates every year. The medals awarded do not correspond to places (first, second, and third, as is the case in sports competitions) but to a level of quality. And, as in previous years, 2019 will undoubtedly be marked by the diversity of appellations and vintages represented. Burgundy, Alsace, Bordeaux, Languedoc, Provence, Southwest... you'll find them all there. all French wine regionsThis allows wineries to promote their wines and their work, and to increase their visibility among consumers. To discover the 2019 winners, you'll have to wait a little longer, as the Salon doesn't open its doors until February 23.Loading...
