Burgundy wine: still the most expensive in the world

Olivier - 19/08/2015

If this is a ranking of wines sold on the market rather than "collector's" wines, the results are revealing. In fact, among the 50 most expensive wines, 44 are French, 40 of which come from Burgundy! As a side note, we learn that Romanée-Conti has just been dethroned from its top spot by the Richebourg Grand Cru Henri Jayer. Equally surprising, the other country most represented in this ranking is Germany, with four wines ranked by price, the top one coming in at fourth place. Next comes the United States, with a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley (in 15th place) and a wine from Ukraine in 33rd place.
