Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 3***Stars (A production of high-quality, that could be used as a reference in its area)

About the vineyard : The South of Beaujolais is known for its soils of limestone and clay, especially in the area of Pierres Dorées where Jean Paul Brun is settled. There, Chardonnays have body and high expressions of fruit, and the Pinot Noirs are also well-done. The estate offers also some crus from the North.

About the vineyard : The reputation of Jean Paul Brun's Beaujolais Nouveau is such that it starts to hide his other wines. It is true that its very natural style suits well this type of wine, even if the range holds interesting deals, including the Moulin-à-Vent. In the respect of the terroirs' expressions, with appropriate vinifications, without overaging, the last vintages offer lots of sophistication and nuance. His white is not to be neglected, certainly on of the best in the area !

The regional appellation Beaujolais was established in 1937. It covers about 8,900 hectares (21,992 acres) of vineyards straddling two distinct geographic areas: the southern part of Beaujolais, around the town of Le Bois d'Oingt, and a ribbon of land that stretches along the banks of the Saône from Villefranche north to La Chapelle de Guinchay. Beaujolais may be grown in 72 communes.  ...
