About this wine :
About the vineyard :
This flagship estate of Moulin-à-Vent was purchased by Jadot in 1996. This acquisition has proven to be successful with a rise that very few Beaujolais estates had experienced for almost twenty years. It was a bold, but now transformed, bet for which Pierre-Henri Gagey was committed based on the know-how of Guillaume de Castelnau, the current Director of the Château since 2000. 2014 will be his last harvest as he takes a well deserved retirement. He delimited precisely the various terroirs and developped the area, reaching today about 90 ha in production. The "Burgundian" wines had long given a unique signature in the region. But in recent years, other areas were inspired by this original vision of gamay the Château des Jacques had initiated. All the cuvées parcellaires require a minimum of five years to fully express the unique character of their terroir. It therefore takes patience to take advantage of their complexity !
