Sitting in the heart of the prestigious Moulin-à-Vent appellation, in the extreme south of Burgundy, Château du Moulin-à-Vent
is run by Jean-Jacques Parinet, whose driving philosophy revolves around respect for this exceptional property and the pursuit of excellence in crafting its wines. He is assisted by manager and cellar master Brice Laffond.
The château's 30 hectares (74 acres) of vineyards are divided among 91 outstanding parcels in the greatest terroirs of the appellation: Le Champ de Cour, La Rochelle, Les Vérillats, Les Thorins, La Roche, and Les Caves, to name just a few. They are cared for following lutte raisonnée, with natural enrichments, manual weeding, and minimal recourse to chemical treatments. The harvest is manual, and the grapes are collected in small crates to avoid crushing them and therefore oxidizing the juice. Thanks to their meticulous work in the vineyards and winery, Château du Moulin-à-Vent offers superb, delicate, elegant wines that convey all the character of the terroir, year after year.
