« The 2013 Moulin-à-Vent Le Clos du Moulin underwent double sorting, was fully-de-stemmed with no carbonic maceration, and aged for 15 months in 10% new barrels, the remainder one-year old. I has a refined bouquet with pure dark cherries and blackcurrant notes, a touch of orange blossom in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, ripe red berry fruit, well-judged acidity, and a silky smooth finish. This is very seductive, though the price is steep compared to its peers. » (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Wine rated (guide 2016) : 17/20 (Vin de référence)
Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 2**Stars (A reliable production but a little more constant and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the vineyard : La famille Labruyère détient ce château depuis 1850.

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : Wines regularly rewarded (The wines of this producer are regularly rewarded by the guide)

The Moulin-à-Vent appellation covers only two communes - Romanèche-Thorins in the Saône-et-Loire and Chénas in the Rhône département. The decree recognizing the appellation dates from 11 September 1936. However, in 1924, the court in Macon, charged with settling disputes relating to counterfeit versions of a wine that was already renowned, had defined the Cru's geographical ...
