The Entre-Deux-Mers AOC
extends over the Gironde wine producing area between the Dordogne and the Garonne rivers, hence its name. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone. In this area of fragmented vineyards, the wine growers are many, and the average size of the vineyards worked is small Producers are therefore able to pamper their vines. They often belong to wine cooperatives which handle the vinification.
The Sauvignon Blanc grape is the king of Entre-deux-Mers
. It often undergoes a very specific process during vinification - maceration on the skins. This produces very aromatic wines, crisp but without excessive acidity, well-balanced and endowed with lovely aromatic power. The Sauvignon Blanc grape variety is dominant and blended with the Sémillon, which provides roundness and power. Acting as a complementary grape variety in the blend, the Muscadelle brings some very pleasant wild and musky notes.
The wines from Entre-deux-Mers are only white. Their range of aromas includes notes of citrus, yellow flowers and exotic fruit. On the palate they are supple and crisp with a thirst-quenching freshness.
