About the vineyard : La famille Despagne dispose de cinq propriétés et de 300 hectares de vignes, plantées en cépages traditionnels bordelais. Le sérieux, l'inventivité et la compétence des Despagne font que tous leurs vins, et notamment ceux de leurs propriétés phare, Tour de Mirambeau et Rauzan Despagne, pourraient servir de modèle à bien des bordeaux : toujours flatteurs mais jamais loin du classicisme bordelais. Ici les vins sont toujours très harmonieux.

About the vineyard :

Vigneronne depuis plus deux siècles, la famille Despagne, établie au coeur de l'Entre-deux-Mers, est un acteur incontournable du vignoble bordelais, à la tête de 300 ha répartis sur plusieurs crus - Bel Air Perponcher, Tour de Mirambeau, Rauzan Despagne, Lion Beaulieu, Mont-Pérat - conduits par les enfants de Jean-Louis (Thibault, Gabriel et Basaline) et par Joël Elissalde, directeur technique. Leurs vins sont souvent en vue dans ces pages, dans les trois couleurs.

Une belle cuvée alliant richesse et complexité aromatique. L'assemblage surprenant sort un peu des codes classiques. mais c'est très bon !

Couleur claire, rien à signaler. Nez boisé puissant mais pas spécialement fin. Bouche puissante, sèche, non fruitée. Vin assez long en bouche mais manque de finesse à tous les étages de la dégustation ! TB pour entrées froides, fruits de mer et poissons mais à éviter pour tous mets raffinés
