About the vineyard : Being recently upgraded to Premier Grand Cru Classé A has certainly created a polemic, but we consider it is well deserved thanks to the work of Hubert de Boüard and its team since 1985 : examplary viticulture, a consistency in quality hard to surpass with a constant refinement of style, brilliant international promotion of the brand. The wine owes a lot to the 50% Cabernet Franc, rare proportion in the appellation, picked at a perfect maturity and bringing all the complexity in finesse expected in a wine of this prestige and price.

About the vineyard : Promoted in the quartet of premiers grands crus classés A during the last Saint-Emilion classification in 2012, no other estate will have gone that far in the Bordeaux hierarchy in such a short time. A prodigious ascent accomplished in two decades, signed by Hubert de Boüard, modernist winemaker, great communicator and international consultant, influencer in the local and national bodies of viticulture. 2013 is completed with the full renovation and embellishment of the cellar, henceforth overcome by a spectacular carillon, that will most likely attract the public. By restructuring the plot, Hubert de Boüard gave all the assets to reach the summits of the appellation. With the 2014 vintage, the 5 hectares of Merlot bought by the estate in the area of Figeac are included in the Carillon de l'Angélus, second label of the Château, for the first time. Angélus illustrates the best of formal and sophisticated perfection of the great bordeaux of today. Colored, refined, precised, this wine keeps a freshness of fruit that was once missing, thanks to the Cabernet Francs playing a major role in the blend. In five years, prices jumped.
