Located in the northern part of Corbières, Château La Bastide
belongs to Anne-Marie and Guilhem Durand, who took over the estate in 1989. They are particularly dedicated to developing the quality of the wines and improving the vineyards, where they are shifting much of their property to different grape varieties. Nestled in a green landscape not far from the sea, the imposing château is cited in documents dating back to 1770. It has been remodeled many times over the years but still retains its unique charm.
The Château La Bastide encompasses 200 hectares (494 acres) of terraced vineyards planted on Quaternary clay-limestone soils with coarse alluvial gravel. Always eager to grow high-quality fruit and respect the environment, the estate has followed lutte raisonnée for the last six years, encouraging life in the earth and the expression of the terroir (organic fertilizer, working the soil). Phytosanitary products are considered according to the climatic risks and the chance of disease.
The entire team here works toward a single goal : producing excellent wine.
