, located north of Béziers in Magalas, was created in 1999 by Bruno Lafon and Sylvie Legros, who had identified a large number plots in the area perfectly suited to the production of quality wines.
Domaine Magellan has 31.5 hectares of vineyards, including 29 hectares located in AOP areas. The vineyards are planted on the flanks of two hills with two distinct terroirs: the terroir of "Pech Redon '(the round hill, consisting of Triassic sandstone) and Villafranchian terroir, quaternary terraces typical of the Pézenas area. In the vineyards, they had to rethink growing practices and apply best practice. At Domaine Magellan, Sylvie and Bruno therefore introduced 100% hand-harvesting, a practice that had long been abandoned on these great terroirs, and they obtained organic certification for their vineyards in 2010. A big new, efficient winery has also seen the light of day. Here, the grapes are pampered and respected and the vinification work is classic and meticulous.
"After 15 years, we have achieved what we believe in and are true to our principles. The cultures have come together, integrated and identity is now created " say these meticulous and talented wine producers.
