About the vineyard : Un pied sur le Pic Saint-Loup, l’autre sur l’appellation Coteaux du Languedoc et les IGP, la famille Orliac possède 60 hectares de vignes dans la garrigue, au cœur de l’Hérault. Avec plusieurs gammes de vins réparties sur cette large palette de terroirs (bergerie-de-l'hortus, clos-du-prieur), elle œuvre pour des vins de grande justesse, notamment les rouges, fins et élégants. Situé au pied des impressionnantes falaises de l'Hortus, le domaine produit des vins sur des terres en altitude situées au-dessus de la vallée de la Buèges, et bénéficie à ce titre d'un climat plus frais. Le grand soin et 2017 confirme ce statut de référence locale en rouge.

About the vineyard : Entre le pic Saint-Loup et le causse de l'Hortus, dans la combe de Fambetou, ce domaine de référence s'étend sur 85 ha de terroirs variés. À partir de 1978, Jean et Marie-Thérèse Orliac ont défriché la garrigue, remis en état des terrasses, construit un chai, bâti une maison puis installé leurs enfants désormais à leurs côtés.

Un vin qui a bien évolué par rapport au 2015 qui m'avait laissée mitigée en longueur, tenue et en bouquet, ou un millésime plus souple. Agréable. Je n regrette pas d'avoir tenté le coup une deuxième fois, même si c'est un peu par étourderie. Je regrette quand même qu'il soit faussement vendu sous l'appellation Domaine de l'Hortus, car il y a quand même un monde entre le vin du père et celui de la fille, qui tient en fait un autre domaine. Mais à tester.
