Domaine de Bellivière
has been expertly managed by Christine and Eric Nicolas since 1995. Both are totally committed to their craft and this has turned the Domaine into a rising star of the Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir appellations. Domaine de Bellivière
covers 13 hectares spanning 5 communes (Lhomme, Ruillé sur Loir, Chahaignes, Marçon and Dissay sous Courcillon) and includes the different terroirs which create the richness and diversity of the wine produced in the Sarthe département.
The Domaine de Bellivière vineyards have been certified biodynamic since 2008: the vineyards are worked accordingly (ploughing, hoeing) without weeding. The massal selection vines are deliberately planted at high density, in order to produce higher quality grapes and efficiently occupy the rare and valuable terroirs. At Domaine de Bellivière, harvesting is carried out entirely by hand and the yields are kept very low in order to harvest only the finest grapes at perfect maturity. Due to his constant quest for maturity, and depending on the year, Eric Nicolas obtains wines with variable levels of residual sugar, resulting in delectable wines ranging from dry to semi-sweet in style.
