Domaine de la Janasse
, a leading Rhône Valley wine producer, was created in 1973 by Aimé Sabon. Today, Domaine de la Janasse
works around 50 hectares of vineyards spread over the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Cotes-du-Rhone appellations and the Vin de Pays de la Principauté d’Orange designation.
The vineyard work is aimed at obtaining grapes of perfect maturity and concentration and above all at achieving the finest expression of the terroir. To this end, the team at Domaine de la Janasse uses various methods of working the soil in order to force the roots to grow deep into the earth. It also carries out a lot of “green work” in the vineyards, including disbudding, leaf thinning and green harvesting. Each of these operations is carefully thought through on a case by case basis, for each parcel, each year. The vineyard work is followed by the vinification and ageing of the wines, which are particularly meticulous. Domaine de la Janasse is a family-owned estate, which takes meticulous care in the vineyards and in the winery, using the best methods, in order to craft very fine wines.
