« A wine I reviewed earlier this year, the 2010 Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde is a stunning Cote Rotie. Made from 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier and aged in equal parts new and once used barrels, it’s medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless, with rocking notes of raspberries, peppered bacon, coffee bean and violets. Drink it anytime over the coming decade or more. » (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker)

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Wine rated (guide 2015) : 17/20 (Vin de référence)
Vineyard rated (guide 2020) : 5*****Stars (Exceptional producers, representing the very top of quality in France and in the world)

About this wine : The appellation's largest bottling by far, Guigal's Brune et Blonde continues to represent the region well. It's rich and textured on the palate, with aromas and flavors of espresso and plum that marry together into a seamless savory-fruity mélange and finish long. Drink now–2025.

About this wine : Aged 36 months in 50% new oak. Co-fermented with 6% Viognier. Violets and peppered meat; the authenticity can’t be faulted. Classic, savoury, lovely manicured tannins. Impressive aromatic range and lovely depth of flavour.

The vineyards of Côte-Rôtie are among the oldest in France. Developed considerably by the Romans, Côte-Rôtie earned AOC status in 1940. Today the appellation comprises a little over 100 producers and about 60 properties with estate bottling. Côte-Rôtie stretches along the bank of the Rhône River, across three villages: Saint-Cyr-sur-Rhône, Ampuis, and Tupin-Semons, all in the Rh ...
