is the alliance of two wine lovers who, having gained first-class experience working for large wine companies, decided they wanted to create their own wines. In 2004, François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier fulfilled their dream and their wine company has become one of the most recognized in the Rhône Valley.
Without vineyards, without a winery, and without great financial resources, they established close ties with several wine growers in the Rhône Valley. In return for their advice and financial incentives, Dauvergne and Ranvier
were able to select the best parcels of vines from these growers. The growers work the vineyards on behalf of Dauvergne and Ranvier in accordance with their guidelines. Everything is checked: pruning, grass cover, de-budding ... in a precise and practical manner. The entire winemaking process is therefore determined and closely watched over by Dauvergne and Ranvier
The Dauvergne Ranvier range of wines is split into four families:
The “Vins Gourmet”: these fruity and fresh young wines instantly express all the appellations’s clean and accessible flavours.
The “Grands Vins”: more serious and concentrated, these wines are surprising as they show greater quality and ageing potential than is usual for their appellations.
The Rare Wines: lesser well-known wines with very low yields, offering a concentration of all the flavours that can be found in their terroirs.
The Single Vineyard Selections: small selections, each with a strong personality and only available in specialist wine stores or restaurants.
