« The inky colored 2013 Lirac Nessun Dorma is smokin' good, with terrific notes of black cherries, black raspberries, licorice, toasted spice and garrigue all emerging from the glass. Made from 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah (the Grenache was aged in concrete and the Syrah in barrel), it offers full-bodied richness, a ripe, voluptuous character and sweet tannin that is more than balanced out by ample fruit. It's a great 2013 that can be enjoyed anytime over the coming 5-7 years. » (Wine Advocate 2016- Robert Parker)

Jancis Robinson

Jancis Robinson

Wine rated (guide 2014) : 16/20

About this wine : 40% Syrah in new oak, 60% Grenache in cuves. Dark crimson. Full, rich, spicy, quite alcoholic fruit and some drying tannins on the finish. Should eventually provide lip-smacking drinking. But it will probably always be marked by a little bit of greenness on the finish.

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 3***Stars (A production of high-quality, that could be used as a reference in its area)

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : Wines regularly rewarded (The wines of this producer are regularly rewarded by the guide)

Renowned since ancient times, the wines from Lirac brought prosperity to the region. Over the centuries, the port of Roquemaure became powerful and prosperous, exporting "Côte du Rhône" wines to Paris, England and the Netherlands. The wines of Lirac were decreed an AOC in 1947. Set out in terraces and hills, the Lirac vineyards nestle on the right bank of the Rhône facing those of ...
