Note : Robert Parker 90/100

Wine Advocate - Robert Parker

Wine Advocate - Robert Parker

Wine rated (guide 2015) : 90/100 (Vin formidable)
Vineyard rated : Recommended (Winery recommended by the Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

About this wine : I also loved the 2014 Lirac la Fermade Blanc, and quality wise, it's at the same level as the more expensive Casta Diva release. The blend here is very different though and is 62% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette, 11% Picpoul and only 7% Viognier. It's raised mostly in concrete tanks (the Viognier sees time in barrel). Orange blossom, citrus and candied lemon notes all show on the nose, and this beauty hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, crisp acidity and some leesy characteristics that come through more on the finish. Drink this food friendly, versatile white over the coming 1-2 years.

Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 3***Stars (A production of high-quality, that could be used as a reference in its area)

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : Wines regularly rewarded (The wines of this producer are regularly rewarded by the guide)

Renowned since ancient times, the wines from Lirac brought prosperity to the region. Over the centuries, the port of Roquemaure became powerful and prosperous, exporting "Côte du Rhône" wines to Paris, England and the Netherlands. The wines of Lirac were decreed an AOC in 1947. Set out in terraces and hills, the Lirac vineyards nestle on the right bank of the Rhône facing those of ...
