« The 2016 Saint Joseph les Challeys is already wonderfully drinkable. Ripe cherries and toasted almonds provide an almost dessert-like profile, but savory notes of black olive provide grounding. The supple tannins make this delicious and easy to drink, yet it should age through 2025. » (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

Vineyard rated (guide 2019) : 3***Stars (A production of high-quality, that could be used as a reference in its area)

About the vineyard : Maison fondée en 1835, propriété depuis 1977 du Champagne Deutz (groupe Roederer).

The vineyards of Saint-Joseph stretch from Chavanay south to Guilherand, covering about 50 kilometers (31 miles) along the right bank of the Rhône and extending into 23 villages in Ardèche and three in the Loire department. The light soils of schist and gneiss sit on a granite bedrock, and the vineyards mainly face south-southeast. The moderate continental climate here brings hot, dry ...
