, located northwest of Perpignan, covers about 85 hectares, including 45 hectares of vines, some as old as 120 years, and 40 hectares of meadows, oak forests and garrigue scrubland of an incredible and unique aromatic complexity. This environment has remained very unspoilt, wild, arid and craggy, with its undulating land made up of limestone, marl and schist soils.
The work carried out at Domaine Gauby is environmentally-friendly, it treats nature as an ally, and rejects chemicals and synthetic products. Home-made herbal preparations (over twenty of these) and other natural products such as essential oils and compost are used. Harvesting is carried out by hand at Domaine Gauby. Through careful, traditional vinification work, they draw out the quintessence of the terroirs and seek elegance and freshness in the wine, in order to preserve the natural balance.
Domaine Gauby produces elegant and well-structured red Côtes du Roussillon Villages, with the good ageing potential typical of the finest wines. It also produces some Vins de Pays des Côtes Catalanes expressing superb aromatic freshness in the white wines. Gauby wines are the benchmark standard for fans of Roussillon "Grands Crus".
