Domaine du Mage
, located in the South West of France, was acquired in 1990 by the Grassa family, who also own Château Tariquet. The Domaine du Mage wines include a 100% Syrah, which is only produced when the vintage conditions allow it. All the wines are produced under the Vin de Pays des Côtes de Gascogne designation. Fruity and elegant, the Domaine du Mage
wines benefit from 14 months in barrels, during which they acquire structure and a typical character.
The Grassa family has managed to retain what could be described as its “farmers wisdom”: honesty (don't pay more for a product that it is worth), consistency (planting vines commits the wine grower for at least 30 years), order and respect (the plant gives the best of itself when it is balanced, we must also give back to nature what nature so generously gives us). The vineyard fertilizers used are of organic origin. To reduce the impact of treatments on the grape juice, the water used to dilute the active ingredients is partially demineralized and its pH is lowered. The result is edifying and the use of plant protection products throughout the Domaine du Mage vineyards has been reduced by almost 40%.
