Domaine Léon Boesch prioritizes meticulous care of the vineyards to produce wines of exceptional quality, with the goal of intervening as little as possible in the winemaking process until bottling to ensure the utmost authenticity. The Pinot Blanc Klevner is a prime example of this, distinguished by its crispness and fresh, fruity character, which closely reflects the expression of the grape variety. A supple, balanced, and enjoyable wine to be savored now while it is still fresh!

Rated estate (2024 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Upon returning to the estate in 1999, Matthieu Boesch quickly decided to make the transition to organic and biodynamic farming, earning certification as early as 2006. However, while these sustainable practices are one thing, it took more time for the wines to find their balance in the glass—for the added acidity and tension to develop and harmonize over time. For the past two vintages, we’ve found that this is now the case. Good news!

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

As ardent advocates of biodynamics for over a decade, Matthieu and his wife Marie represent the eleventh generation of the Léon Boesch estate, located in the heart of the Vallée Noble. Here, the Zinnkoepflé grand cru is now dedicated to Gewürztraminer, with the aim of establishing it as a benchmark for a dry, full-bodied style. The estate has been practicing biodynamic agriculture since 2000, and the winery inaugurated in Westhalten in 2010 is a model of bioclimatic design. The wines possess depth and best express the terroirs of the region.

Review by Ms. ISABELLE B. Posted on April 25, 2013

What a wonderful wine! Certainly very classic, but beautifully crafted. A wine that leaves many people "speechless" in blind tastings thanks to its intrinsic qualities and excellent value for money. Kudos to Domaine Boesch.
