Rating from the Hachette Wine Guide: 2** (Remarkable Wine) + Editor’s Choice
“This Chénas, vinified in the Beaujolais style—using semi-carbonic maceration—with its lively character, won over the grand jury. It has it all: a ruby color with violet highlights; a tart nose evoking Burlat cherries and red berries enhanced by blackcurrant; a lively, refined, and elegant palate, supported by supple tannins. This beautiful wine is a model of balance.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
Located on the border between Burgundy and Beaujolais, this château takes its name from Sieur Bonnet, a councilman of the city of Mâcon, who had a manor house built there in 1630, where Lamartine later stayed. Acquired by the Perrachon family in 1973, the estate comprises 22 hectares of vineyards. Pierre-Yves Perrachon, who has led the estate since 1988, was joined in 2013 by his daughter Charlotte, an oenologist. He has also partnered with a winemaker from the Mâconnais region to expand his operations through a wine merchant firm, Bourgogne Sélect.

A wine with overly pronounced acidity (well, it is Gamay…) and little aroma. A wine that disappointed me

A very pleasant surprise—the red berries come through, and the tannins give it a bit more length on the finish. I'll definitely be buying this again.

I was familiar with the Saint-Amour. The Chénas is in the same vein. Well, then.

It looks good, but it's too early to give a real opinion....Let it rest for at least 6 months...

I'm a little disappointed by your glowing reviews of this wine. I found this wine rather flat and uninteresting, both on the nose and on the palate.

This wine still needs a little time to mellow; at the moment, it has a certain astringency that doesn't do the Gamay any favors.
