Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 17/20, RVF Exceptional Success, Wine Spectator 90/100, Jancis Robinson 17/20
A cuvée from the Py hill, with its granite and schist soil, which overlooks the village of Villié-Morgon. Its aromas of nuts and red fruit pulp make it a delicate wine. The manganese contained in the Py granite, which the vine absorbs, gives it a structure that will allow it to age for several years.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated Estate (2014 Guide) Selected (An estate or winery that impressed us with one or more of its wines, though we are unable to offer a general assessment of the style of its entire range)
About the estate:
"This estate, formerly Château Bellevue, is the Morgon counterpart to Château des Jacques in Moulin-à-Vent. The same brilliant team, led by Jacques Lardière, crafts wines in a similar spirit, producing full-bodied, generous wines that have, over the past two years, evolved toward greater precision. The 2005 and 2006 vintages will serve as benchmarks for the entire region. We have a soft spot for the Terres-Noires, one of the most flavorful and accomplished Morgons of 2005. In 2006, the Morgon Côte-de-Py clearly takes the lead. 2007 is the last vintage produced here, as the wines have been sold under the Château des Jacques label since the 2008 vintage.”

Rated estate (2014 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
(Jadot) “This prestigious wine merchant boasts one of the most extensive ranges and a superb collection of terroirs, spanning 150 hectares and distributed across five continents in more than sixty countries. Jacques Lardière, the company’s winemaker since 2009, has smoothly handed the reins over to Frédéric Barnier. 2012 will be his first vintage. Pierre-Henri Gagey, the CEO, continues to acquire Burgundian vineyards and has even established a winemaking facility dedicated to Burgundies in Givry, in the Côte Chalonnaise.”
