“The 2011 Morgon Côte de Py offers a soft, ripe blend of cherry and rhubarb accented by cumin, black tea, crushed stone, and an alkaline salinity. Benefiting—at least for now—from slightly less purity than its counterpart Voûte Saint Vincent (which also comes from the Côte de Py sector), it displays a clear structure and lovely mineral elements. Here, the pursuit of aesthetic excellence focuses on the subtle expression of specific vineyard sites (primarily in Morgon), the right balance of substance according to the vintage, and aging potential—all stemming from meticulous viticulture, sensitive winemaking free from dogma, and refined, wood-free aging. The third star has been pinned to the estate’s lapel for several years now, and given the consistency and coherence of the range, we suspect it will remain there for many years to come.
