2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"Already featured in the 2018 edition with a very fine star rating, Olivier Depardon returns with a Régnié full of charm and harmony. To achieve this, he destemmed his grapes and then aged them briefly in vats. The aromatic expression develops intense notes of ripe red and black fruits, with a hint of spice as a bonus. The palate, equally rich in fruit, is full-bodied, round and long, supported by silky, fine tannins." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2019) A real treat!

Drunk in November 2019. A slight effervescence on the palate that surprises without being unpleasant. A nose of crisp fruit. Supple and fleeting on the palate. A pleasant wine, but for me Régnié is not on the same level as the other Beaujolais AOCs.

Beautiful purple color, lovely intense yet fresh nose of black fruit, relatively intense on the palate but fairly short, relatively tannic. A beautiful expression of Gamay.

Review and opinion by Mr. ANDRE C. Published on 12/16/2018

Episcopal purple color, small crystals visible in the glass (tartaric acid?), pleasant but subtle fruity nose, evolving into a very slight acidity when aerated. On the palate, good acidity and fruit, but harsh tannins and formidable astringency. Did the winemaker intend to produce a wine for aging? For now, it is not a very pleasant wine.

Review and opinion by Mr. JULIEN V. Published on 12/10/2018

Attractive ruby color, quite deep for a Gamay. Pleasant attack of red fruit supported by a nicely controlled bitterness. Good length. I like the balance and value for money.
