Notes: Guide Hachette 2011: 2** (Remarkable Wine) + Coup de Coeur, Challenge International du Vin 2010 Gold Medal,
“Haut-Canteloup returns to the top with this Prestige cuvée, which has never been more aptly named since it was named a ‘Coup de Coeur’ in the 2004 vintage. The color is deep purple verging on black. The nose, both powerful and elegant, blends the toasted and vanilla notes from aging with candied red fruits. Dense, rich, full-bodied, and silky, the wine lingers on the palate. One might be tempted to enjoy it right away, but wisdom calls for a little patience to savor this wine at its peak, in five or six years, or even longer if the occasion calls for it... Some gourmet pairings? Duck breast with porcini mushrooms, the very local lamprey à la bordelaise, or the classic rib of beef with vine shoots. (Guide Hachette des Vins 2011).
