Note: Guide Hachette 2** (remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
“One of the appellation’s sure bets. (...) The ruby color is both vivid and deep. The nose reveals toasted oak and fully ripe grapes. The palate follows suit, revealing a soft texture supported by quality tannins that are still a bit firm. After one or two years, the harmony will be perfect.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2010)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2015 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

A perfectionist, Stéphane Donze has set himself the demanding task of producing wines that far exceed the region’s usual standards. After purchasing the estate, he and his wife Lucie spent fifteen years closely studying and observing the layout of their vineyards. This painstaking work—always pushing the limits of risk—has enabled them to achieve perfect ripeness and great precision in their wines.
