Note: Guide Hachette 1* (very successful wine)
“This prestigious cuvée is selected from the 25 hectares of rolling vineyards surrounding the farmhouse. The nose of the 2008 is still barrel-driven, dominated by very toasty oak. Upon aeration, the aroma gives way to notes of toasted almond and very ripe berries. The palate is warm, structured by fairly pronounced tannins that make this a good wine for aging, best enjoyed in two or three years.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2011). Quite simply one of the appellation’s best values!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2015 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

A perfectionist, Stéphane Donze has set himself the demanding task of producing wines that far exceed the region’s usual standards. After purchasing the estate, he and his wife Lucie spent fifteen years closely studying and observing the layout of their vineyards. This painstaking work—always pushing the limits of risk—has enabled them to achieve perfect ripeness and great precision in their wines.
