“This superb 2008, with its deep purple color, reveals aromas of undergrowth, sweet and red currants, licorice, and roasted herbs. Classic, elegant, and medium-bodied, it offers a complex and seductive palette, an almost intellectual and hedonistic tension. Enjoy this delicious Margaux over the next 12–15 years at least.” (Wine Advocate – Robert Parker). • Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 12 bottles of this wine shipped within France •

Rated estate (2020 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

The wine owes its class and character to the heart of the Cantenac plateau and its deep siliceous and clayey gravel, which the estate largely shares with Rauzan-Ségla. Under the direction of Henri Lurton, it consistently displays a suppleness and aromatic finesse all its own, making it highly sought after by wine lovers who appreciate what they expect from a fine Margaux. In the most recent vintages, it seems to have taken another step forward in the precision of its expression of the terroir. The second wine, Baron-de-Brane, shares the same aesthetic with a suppleness in the tannins that should appeal to many restaurateurs and wine lovers.

About the estate:

This Second Growth is led with conviction and talent by Henri Lurton, who benefits from both a superb terroir and modern facilities. Here, he crafts very refined wines that embody what might be called the Margaux signature—without heaviness or affectation, but with delicate fruit. The estate has just released a series of impressive vintages that are propelling it to the top of the appellation. Now is the time to enjoy them.
