"A sensational Pauillac— —from this outstanding estate, the 2010 La Fleur Peyrabon is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remainder consisting mainly of Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot. Opaque ruby-purple in color, with notes of pencil lead, cedar wood, blackcurrant, undergrowth, and oak, the wine has the character of a classified growth. Full-bodied and rich, with striking texture and purity, and a 30-second finish, this wine should drink well for at least 15 years or more." Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
In 1998, Bordeaux wine merchant Patrick Bernard (Millésima) purchased this 49-hectare vineyard, located in the commune of Saint-Sauveur, part of which extends into Pauillac and produces the Fleur-Peyrabon cuvée.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2013 guide) 91/100 (Excellent wine)
About the wine:
With a deep ruby-purple color and notes of mineral, cedar, blackcurrant, forest floor, and oak, this wine displays the character of a classified growth. Full-bodied and rich, with remarkable purity and structure, the finish lasts a full 30 seconds!
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2014 guide) 17/20 (Great wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the wine:
The 2010 vintage shows true refinement: La Fleur Peyrabon reveals a fuller, more intense, elegant, and complex palate.
About the estate:
Owned by wine merchant Patrick Bernard (Millésima), Peyrabon produces two wines. The first, from the Haut-Médoc, is easily accessible and has moderate aging potential. The second, named Fleur de Peyrabon, comes from well-located vineyards in Pauillac (4 ha), but the extraction and aging process sometimes give it a slightly dry character. The wines are well-structured and offer good value for money.
