“A wine with a vivid color, a beautifully fruity nose, and subtle oak notes. The palate is fresh and fruity, with the body supported by good tannins and ‘intelligent oak,’ according to one taster—that is, without excess—featuring notes of vanilla and cinnamon. This wine should develop finesse; it can be served in a year or two with a tournedos accompanied by porcini mushrooms and chestnut purée.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins) • Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine shipped within France •

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2012 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the wine:
A fine, well-structured wine with precise tannins and red fruit notes; the finish is fairly austere but solidly built. Let it age for three to four years.
About the estate:
The latest vintages of this wine stand out for their finesse and elegant structure; they deserve widespread acclaim, especially given their very reasonable price.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2012 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)
About the wine:
In 2004, Olivier Decelle, former head of the Picard frozen food company, set his sights on this prominent vineyard located northwest of Saint-Émilion. As with some of its prestigious neighbors, Cabernet Franc makes up a significant portion of the blend. The result is a wine with a vibrant color, a beautifully fruity nose, and subtle oak notes. The palate is fresh and fruity, with the body supported by good tannins and “intelligent oak,” as one taster put it—that is, not excessive—with notes of vanilla and cinnamon. This wine should develop finesse; it can be served in a year or two with a tournedos accompanied by porcini mushrooms and chestnut purée.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2012 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
Mineral, mocha, and black fruit notes on the nose; a dense, ripe, balanced palate with subtle oak; and a lovely finish: this already charming wine will only grow more so with time.

Wine rated (2013 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2008 vintage seems a bit more robust, but with great precision in its fruit profile; it continues to refine with age.
About the estate:
Ideally situated between Cheval-Blanc, La Dominique, and Ripeau, Château Jean-Faure was acquired in 2004 by Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel in Roussillon and a stake in the young Nuit-Saint-Georges wine merchant, Decelle-Villa. Thoroughly reimagined, Jean Faure reveals, vintage after vintage, striking and exciting similarities to the Pomerol style of Cheval-Blanc, without being a mere copy. For Jean Faure explores, with its Cabernets, a “Pinot-like” fruitiness that is uniquely its own. This evolution was only possible by focusing the estate’s efforts on significant agronomic improvements. Cabernet Franc is no longer considered here as a blending component but is regarded as the heart of the wine.
