“The 2009 vintage seemed more powerful, with intense notes of black fruit, but its Cabernet Franc grapes give it a lovely freshness on the palate, and its finish is perfectly balanced.” (RVF – Guide to the Best Wines of France 2014) - Orders of 6 bottles of this wine shipped within France will be delivered in a wooden case

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2013 guide) 16,5/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2018 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the wine:
The nose offers notes of black fruit with floral hints; the palate is elegant and fresh, very much in the style of the Cheval Blanc appellation.
About the estate:
The latest vintages of this wine stand out for their finesse and elegant structure; they deserve widespread acclaim, especially given their very reasonable price.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2013 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)
About the wine:
Formerly a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, this estate lost its classification during the 1986 review. In 2004, Olivier Decelle (owner of Mas Amiel, among other properties) took over and restructured the estate, and has since been working to restore it to its former glory. Made from an original blend dominated by Cabernet Franc (54%), with Merlot and a touch of Malbec to complement it, its 2009 vintage offers a bouquet that is still somewhat reserved, opening up upon aeration to reveal ripe fruit (crushed strawberry). Fresh and fruity on the attack, the palate is supported by youthful tannins and quality oak that will ensure it can be cellared for three to five years.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2012 guide) 17.5/20 (Outstanding)
About the wine:
A beautiful bouquet of graphite, plum, violet, and a hint of mocha. The palate is superb in length and balance, with elegant, refined tannins wrapped in a juicy texture.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2013 guide) 88/100 (Good wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Notes of garrigue that remind me of Provence, blended with aromas of kirsch, damp earth, a spice cabinet, and a hint of oak leap from the glass—a dense wine with a plum, ruby, and purple hue. Ripe, low in acidity, well-textured, and round, this is a wine to enjoy over the next decade.

Rated estate (2018 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2009 vintage seemed more robust, with intense notes of black fruit, but its Cabernet Franc grapes give it a lovely freshness on the palate, and its finish is perfectly balanced.
About the estate:
Ideally situated between Cheval-Blanc, La Dominique, and Ripeau, Château Jean-Faure was acquired in 2004 by Olivier Decelle, who also owns Mas Amiel in Roussillon and a stake in the young Nuit-Saint-Georges wine merchant, Decelle-Villa. Thoroughly reimagined, Jean Faure reveals, vintage after vintage, striking and exciting similarities to the Pomerol style of Cheval-Blanc, without being a mere copy. For Jean Faure explores, with its Cabernets, a “Pinot-like” fruitiness that is uniquely its own. This evolution was only possible by focusing the estate’s efforts on significant agronomic improvements. Cabernet Franc is no longer considered here as a blending component but is regarded as the heart of the wine.
