Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.

Very nice concentration. Cherry flavors are ever-present on the palate. However, the aging is noticeable, and in my opinion, it will take 4 or 5 years to fully develop. I was a bit impatient with this bottle, which promises a bright future.

This is a rich, pleasant, full-bodied, and generous wine. A fine 2009 vintage, tasted while still young (in 2012), but one whose aging potential is beyond doubt (I still have a few bottles left to prove it). The slight downside: like all Beaune wines, it has that immediate quality that could be mistaken for a lack of complexity or originality.
