One of the five appellations of the Côte Chalonnaise, Bouzeron is the closest to the Côte-d’Or. The Aligoté grape, the only variety authorized in the AOC, finds in this clay-limestone soil a unique terroir that brings out one of its most characteristic expressions. Delicate and fresh, with aromas of lemon and white-fleshed fruits, it offers a fresh and fragrant palate that is both crisp and supple. About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots across 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand crus and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
