Located south of the Côte de Beaune, the village of Chassagne became Chassagne-Montrachet in the 19th century to capitalize on the fame of the legendary Grand Cru it shares with Puligny. This cuvée opens with an intense bouquet of flowers and fruit. A full-bodied wine, yet smooth and rounded, with remarkable aromatic persistence.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots across 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand crus and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
