Bogeda Montecastro
Bodega Montecastro is a winery founded in 2001 with a 27-hectare vineyard located in the Duero region, east of Valladolid, Spain. The Bodega Montecastro vineyard is planted on a variety of soils, some of which are clay-pebble soils, while others are limestone soils. Each soil type benefits different grape varieties and, ultimately, the quality of the wines. The winemaking process incorporates the most modern techniques, including selection, analysis, and research, combined with a natural approach to the terroir. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, whose thermal inertia ensures the process is carried out to perfection.

Under the supervision of Bertrand Erhard, these methods—which combine modernity, tradition, and respect for nature—enable the Ribera del Duero wines to achieve excellence in flavor and aroma. Extended barrel aging, high-quality grape varieties, meticulous craftsmanship, and the terroir’s natural conditions contribute far more to the reputation of Bodega Montecastro’s wines than the fame of the estate’s shareholders, among whom Julio Iglesias is notably included.
