Hermanos Lurton

Lurton Brothers
In 1992, Jacques and François Lurton arrived in Rueda to produce Sauvignon Blanc under the famous name now known throughout the wine world: Hermanos Lurton (translation: "the Lurton Brothers").

Driven by their curiosity, they discovered and decided to vinify the local grape variety: Verdejo. It was a revolution. This variety, which had traditionally been produced only in an oxidative Jerez style, turned out to yield a remarkable and original wine that was an instant hit with consumers. Since then, the Hermanos Lurton estate has been producing 100% Verdejo wines that are delightfully approachable, in addition to the Sauvignon Blanc they know so well from their early days in Bordeaux.

Six years later, in 1998,Hermanos Lurton began making wine from grapes grown on old vines in the neighboring DO: Toro. These 100% Tempranillo wines (known locally as tinta de toro) proved to be rich, elegant, and highly expressive: yet another love at first sight for the Lurton family.

Today, these three Hermanos Lurton wines, steeped in family tradition, captivate with their freshness, approachability, and the purity of their aromas.
