Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2025 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

We admire the energy and healthy ambition of the two sisters, Diane and Constance, who energetically manage L'Engarran (50 hectares), spread out around an 18th-century folly. Diane, who oversees the winemaking, strives for precision. The style highlights the grapes’ full ripeness, resulting in opulent wines, with improvements in the quality of the tannins, which are now finer and rounder.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Château de l'Engarran is an 18th-century "folly" in Montpellier, listed on the National Register of Historic Monuments. Three generations of women have turned this 55-hectare estate into one of the most beautiful destinations in the Grés de Montpellier and Saint-Georges-d'Orques regions.
