Notes: RVF 17/20, Robert Parker 89-90/100, Guide Hachette 1* (Very successful wine)
“This 2009 reveals a beautiful, well-integrated, and elegant oak on the nose. On the palate, crisp tannins and complex aromas of dried banana, garrigue, smoke, and black fruits unfold. A flattering and harmonious wine, best enjoyed with a filet of beef in mushroom sauce.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2024 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Isabelle and Mathieu Champart built their estate from the ground up in 1976 and have made it a hallmark of quality, as year after year, everything produced there remains excellent. The apparent simplicity of these under-the-radar wines was matched only by the length and complexity of their finishes. The estate has changed hands; Pascaline Bour, a relative of the Mulliez family, has taken it over. We look forward to the wines produced by the new team and hope they will continue an incredible string of great successes in an appellation that, curiously, suffers from a lack of recognition.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
A magnificent landscape, terraced vineyards, a hillside farmhouse, and a very stony, clay-limestone terroir. Since 1976, Isabelle and Matthieu Champart have been cultivating 13 hectares of vineyards (80% of which are organic) in this picture-perfect setting, with an organic approach that predates the official conversion process begun in 2019. They have been making their own wine since 1988, the year they left the cooperative.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Fans of the Champart couple—both recently retired—can rest assured: the estate remains in top form, true to the spirit of its founders! Nicolas Gaignon continues to bring these beautiful vintages to life, rooted in clay-limestone soil. The 16-hectare estate, situated on the limestone folds overlooking the town of Saint-Chinian, began its transition to organic farming in 2019. Here, the wines are equally suited for immediate enjoyment and for long-term aging.
