Domaine Hubert - Châteaumeillant Origines rouge 2022
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"A unique and charming wine, a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir"
"This superb cuvée, made from 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot Noir, is grown on sandy and sandstone soil. With a garnet-ruby hue and black highlights, the color is as deep as it is brilliant. The nose confirms this impression of concentration, coupled with complexity: a fleeting animal note (leather, game), followed by ripe, jammy fruit. With well-refined tannins, the palate is supple and displays intense fruitiness. Enjoyable now, this wine will also be worth savoring in a few years.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025).

With its abundant fruit and juicy texture infused with crushed red berries and subtle peppery notes, this Gamay-Pinot Noir blend produces a wine that is light, fresh, and round, with a lively acidity supported by subtle, silky tannins. It is affordably priced. This cheerful and delicious Châteaumeillant proves to be a delightful tasting experience to enjoy with friends during a spring cocktail party, for example with a guinea fowl and mushroom pie, served with arugula, and/or pan-fried pork cracklings. Rating: 3.8.
