Clos Henri Vineyard
Based in Sancerre for 10 generations, Domaine Henri Bourgeois has built its reputation over time. Once the estate was taken over by Henri Bourgeois' sons, Rémi and Jean-Marie, new challenges were taken on, including exploring the wine world to find a new terroir for Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
In 2000, after nearly 12 years of research, the Bourgeois family fell in love with the Marlborough region of New Zealand and the wines produced there. The decision was made and the Bourgeois family established Clos Henri on 98 hectares of pasture land. The first vines were planted a year later and produced their first vintage in 2003.
In 2007, Clos Henri acquired an additional 11 hectares, bringing the total area under vine to 109 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, 42 hectares of which have been certified organic since 2013.
